THE BEACH BOYS SHRINE
After
the critically acclaimed, Pet Sounds album, Brian Wilson went to
work on his masterpiece, Good Vibrations. It was a symphony of
wonderful harmonies interwoven with beautiful instrumentation which
in some parts begged to be defined. It was a masterpiece only the
Beach Boys could master. This was in essence a rock symphony. A
million seller which many critics have claimed to be the Beach Boys'
best recording.
Good
Vibrations took over 6 months to complete. It was recorded in
sections and then the different sections were spliced together to
come up with the masterpiece as we know it. It used up an enormous
amount of tape. But the result speaks for itself. Number 1 in both
the US and the UK in 1966.
