THE BEACH BOYS SHRINE

FOR HARD CORE FANS

THE MOVIES

The Beach Boys performed at the TAMI Show (1964) concert, but when the movie was released, their performance was cut out. The Beach Boys' TAMI Show performance did not see the light of day in-full until 1985, with the "American Band" video/documentary.

Mike Love made a cameo appearance in the movie "Deadman's Curve", the movie about Jan & Dean starring Richard Hatch.

Also, the Beach Boys performed "Little Honda" in The Girls On The Beach (1965). They also performed "Girls On The Beach" during the opening credits and Brian did a campfire version of "The Lonely Sea." The Beach Boys also were actually in the opening credits of The Monkey's Uncle (1965), onstage with Annette Funicello doing the theme song. The Beach Boys sang backing vocals.

Furthermore, the Beach Boys wrote almost all of the instrumental music to the 1962 short film One Man's Challenge, and they performed in the movie as well. Brian Wilson made a cameo in How To Stuff A Wild Bikini (1965) and wrote/produced six of the eight songs (with Gary Usher) for AIP's Muscle Beach Party (1964). The Beach Boys also sang the theme song to the short-lived 1964 television show "Karen," which starred Debbi Watson; and they played just about every major cable variety show on TV in the early '60s, always singing, but often doing comedy sketches as well.

Finally, the Beach Boys scored the 1972 independant Surf film Five Summer Stories, providing songs from SURF'S UP and SUNFLOWER and also pre/early versions of CARL & THE PASSIONS and HOLLAND songs. They did a lot of post-HOLLAND TV specials too.
