SURFIN' SAFARI - THE ALBUM

Released in December of 1962 by Capitol Records, this was the Beach Boys' first album.  The album produced 5 singles, "Surfin", "Surfin Safari", "409", "County Fair" and "Ten Little Indians". The last two were insignificant, although TLI charted reasonably well,  at #49.

Although, no smash hit, Surfin' Safari did well enough that Capitol sent the group back into the studio to record another album.

The following is the playlist for the Surfin' Safari album:

Track 1 - Surfin Safari (B. Wilson - M. Love)

Track 2 - County Fair (B. Wilson - G. Usher)

Track 3 - Ten Little Indians (B. Wilson - G. Usher)

Track 4 - Chug - A - Lug (B. Wilson - G. Usher)

Track 5 - Little Girl (You're My Miss America) (Catalano - Alpert)

Track 6 - 409 (B. Wilson - G. Usher)

Track 7 - Surfin' (B. Wilson - M. Love)

Track 8 - Heads You Win - Tails I Lose (B. Wilson - G. Usher)

Track 9 - Summertime Blues (E. Cochran - J. Capehart)

Track 10 - Cuckoo Clock (B. Wilson - G. Usher)

Track 11 - Moon Dawg (Derry Weaver)

Track 12 - The Shift (B. Wilson - M. Love)

My favourite cuts from this album are as follows in order of preference:

1. The Shift

2. Chug - A - Lug

3. Surfin'

4. Little Girl (You're My Miss America)

5. Surfin' Safari

6. 409
