SMILEY SMILE - THE ALBUM

The infamous "Smile" album that was to be the rock anthem of its day was scrapped. Instead it was The Beatles with their release of "Sgt. Pepper" that graced the airwaves. Smiley Smile, the first record to be released on the Brother label was recorded in less than two weeks and did respectably well at #41, and included some of the cuts that were supposed to have graced the "Smile" album. The fact is, that it was not "Smile". There was less binding this album together then a jellyfish in the middle of a hurricane. However, there were excellent songs on this album besides their million seller "Good Vibrations" and their classic "Heroes and Villains", the former being included to boost the sales of an otherwise non-commercial album. And non-commercial it was. The album was full of loose experimental music sung in ways that no one has sung before.

The following is the playlist for the Beach Boys' Smiley Smile album:

Track 1 - Heroes and Villains (B. Wilson - Van Dyke Parks)

Track 2 - Vegetables (B. Wilson - VanDyke Parks)

Track 3 - Fall Breaks and Back To Winter (W. Woodpecker Symphony (B. Wilson - M. Love - Van Dyke Parks)

Track 4 - She's Goin Bald (B. Wilson - M. Love - Van Dyke Parks)

Track 5 - Little Pad (Brian Wilson)

Track 6 - Good Vibrations(Brian Wilson - Mike Love)

Track 7 - With Me Tonight (Brian Wilson)

Track 8 - Wind Chimes (Brian Wilson)

Track 9 - Gettin' Hungry (Brian Wilson - Mike Love)

Track 10 - Wonderful (B. Wilson - Van Dyke Parks)
