THE BEACH BOYS SHRINE

FOR HARD CORE FANS

SUMMER DAYS (AND SUMMER NIGHTS) - THE ALBUM

Released in July of 1965, this album was a return to the refreshing summer sounds that made The Beach Boys famous.  This album was responsible for a whopping six singles of which only 2 charted. "Help Me Rhonda" was a chart topper at #1 while "California Girls" made it to #3. "Girl Don't Tell Me", "Let Him Run Wild", "You're So Good To Me", and "Summer Means New Love" did not chart, however. An excellent rocker, "Salt Lake City" probably would have been a better choice for a single since it embodied everything that was fun about the city..."...sun in the summer and winter time the skiin' is great". Apart from the album "Party" this would be the last  feel good  album by the Beach Boys until 1976.

The following is the playlist for the Summer Days (and Summer Nights) album:

Track 1 - The Girl From New York City (Brian Wilson)

Track 2 - Amusement Parks U.S.A. (Brian Wilson)

Track 3 - Then I Kissed Her (Spector-Greenwich-Barry)

Track 4 - Salt Lake City (Brian Wilson)

Track 5 - Girl Don't Tell Me (Brian Wilson)

Track 6 - Help Me Rhonda (Single Version) (Brian Wilson)

Track 7 - California Girls (Brian Wilson)

Track 10 - Summer Means New Love (Brian Wilson)

Track 11 - I'm Bugged At My Old Man (Brian Wilson)
