This album has got to be the most disappointing album The Beach Boys have ever recorded. There is little on this album that is at all appealing except for one song, "Marcella". And it is a good thing that the powers that be had the intelligence to release "Marcella" as a single.
Carl & The Passions, was one of the names that the group was known as prior to being known as The Beach Boys. Unfortunately, the album seemed to be lacking a bit of passion.
The album was coupled with Pet Sounds in North America and only took 10 days to record. It showed.
