L.A. (LIGHT ALBUM) - THE ALBUM

This album probably contained one of the best songs The Beach Boys ever recorded. "Good Timin" is a heavenly piece of music. A rare collaboration between Brian and Carl Wilson resulted in an absolute "worth the price of three albums" song. The song surprisingly only made it to #40.
"Lady Lynda" named for Alan's wife did very well in the U.K. as a single reaching #6. Unfortunately it did not do that well in North America. It is doubtful based on the information available that it even secured a position on the Billboard charts.
Another reason why The Beach Boys are such a great band is because there isn't a type of music that they haven't played. Disco was certainly no stranger to them. They took an obscure number off of their "Wild Honey" album and turned it into a disco number on this album. "Here Comes The Night" was completely re-worked and transformed into a dance number.
The following is the playlist for the L.A. (Light Album) album:
Track 1 - Good Timin' (Brian Wilson - Carl Wilson)
Track 2 - Lady Lynda ( Alan Jardine - Ron Altbach)
Track 3 - Full Sail (C. Wilson - G. Cushing - Murray)
Track 4 - Angel Comes Home (C. Wilson - G. Cushing - Murray)
Track 5 - Love Surrounds Me (D. Wilson - G. Cushing - Murray)
Track 6 - Sumahama (Mike Love)
Track 7 - Here Comes The Night (Brian Wilson - Mike Love)
Track 8 - Baby Blue (D. Wilson - G. Jakobsen - K. Lamm)
Track 9 - Goin' South (C. Wilson - G. Cushing - Murray)
Track 10 - Shortenin' Bread (Adapted by Brian Wilson)
My favourite cuts off this album are as follows in order of preference:
1. Good Timin'
2. Lady Lynda
3. Sumahama
4. Here Comes The Night
5. Baby Blue
