THE BEACH BOYS SHRINE

FOR HARD CORE FANS

15 BIG ONES - THE ALBUM

15 Big Ones was a definite turning point. The title of the album stood for the 15 songs on the album and the 15 years the Beach Boys have been around. It seemed The Beach Boys were injected and rejuvenated with new life after seeming to be lifeless for a period of years. The sound of "It's OK" and "Rock and Roll Music" pounding out of the kitchen radio sent signals that The Beach Boys were back. Although the album was somewhat scarce with new original material, the fact that Brian Wilson was back in the studio and producing music was comforting. If there ever was any doubt about Al Jardine's ability to write good catchy rock and roll, "Susie Cincinatti" removed that doubt once and for all. A great tune with a great guitar intro.

A gem of a song that is playable over and over again just because it is so good is "That Same Song". In fact it is surprising that this song was not released as a single rather than the forgettable "TM Song" which has probably been more responsible for the increased sales of antacid tablets than any other Beach Boys song ever recorded.

This album is a must have for collectors and non-collectors alike.
